Oerd Bylykbashi has denounced in the media that manipulation schemes used by the Socialist Party in the elections of March 6, 2022 have been discovered.
According to Bylykbashi, in the general elections of 2021, about 110,000 voters voted in the voting centers of the Durrës Municipality, about 5,500 voters voted without identifying themselves with a fingerprint, with the claim that the fingerprints could not be read.
While in the partial elections for mayor in Durrës on March 6, 2022, when about 67,000 voters participated, or 43,000 voters less than in 2021, the number of people who voted without being identified with a fingerprint in the electronic identification system is 9,600. voter.
He emphasizes that there is an increase of 4,100 voters, or 75% more than just a year earlier. There has been no mass damage to voters' fingerprints in Durrës in just one year, but it clearly indicates attempts to manipulate the vote.
It also underlines that the increase in the number of polling stations in the city where exponents and known patronages of the Socialist Party operate and not only in the countryside, where the residents are known by the commissioners, demolishes excuses that the tracks may have been damaged by hard work.
Bylykbashi adds that a large number of immigrants voted on March 6, 2022 in Durrës, even though it is not a holiday season. Field verifications of a number of cases have produced indications that persons who turn out to be voters were not in Albania on March 6, 2022 when the opposition had only one commissioner in the voting centers.
He called on SPAK and CEC to take measures for these schemes.
Statement for the media of Oerd Bylykbashi:
The Democratic Party has taken and is taking measures to guarantee the free and secret vote of Albanians. Schemes of manipulation and violation of the Electoral Code and the Criminal Code have also been identified and criminal charges have been made and will continue to be made for these.
From our verifications, manipulation schemes used by the Socialist Party in the elections of March 6, 2022 have been discovered.
In the general elections of 2021, about 110,000 voters voted in the voting centers of the Durrës Municipality, about 5,500 voters voted without identifying themselves with a fingerprint, with the claim that the fingerprints could not be read.
In the partial elections for mayor in Durrës on March 6, 2022, when about 67,000 voters participated, or 43,000 voters less than in 2021, the number of people who voted without being identified with a fingerprint in the electronic identification system is 9,600 voters. .
So there is an increase of 4,100 voters, or 75% more than just a year earlier. There has been no mass damage to voters' fingerprints in Durrës in just one year, but it clearly indicates attempts to manipulate the vote.
The increase in the number of polling stations in the city where exponents and known patronages of the Socialist Party operate and not only in the countryside, where the residents are known by the commissioners, demolishes excuses that the tracks may have been damaged by heavy work.
It turns out that a large number of immigrants voted on March 6, 2022 in Durrës, even though it is not a holiday season. Field verifications of a number of cases have produced indications that persons who turn out to be voters were not in Albania on March 6, 2022 when the opposition had only one commissioner in the voting centers.
This investigation carried out by the Democratic Party based on data printed from the electronic identification system and evidence from publicly denounced databases of patron Nazis, was initiated by information from Socialist Party sources.
This also explains the Socialist Party's insistence at all costs to prevent and disrupt the guarantee of political balance in the voting center commissions.
The Democratic Party has filed a criminal complaint with SPAK for this criminal scheme. We ask SPAK to urgently and thoroughly investigate and bring the responsible persons to justice.
At the request of the Democratic Party, the CEC has issued additional rules that make it difficult to use this scheme, while the commissioners and observers of the opposition will not allow any violation of the law.
Attempts are being made to sabotage the operation of the electronic and biometric voter identification system through pressure, illegal political orders or bribery on the technical operators of the system and prevent them from appearing for duty on May 14.
The goal is to avoid this system that detects multiple or local voting of persons who are not in Albania, using their IDs. Instead, use the old way of printed lists with signatures that have been removed since 2021.
We ask the CEC to take full and energetic measures to ensure the proper functioning of the electronic and biometric identification system in every voting center throughout the territory and to punish any violation.
We warn that the non-appearance of identification device operators, as well as polling station commissioners, constitutes dereliction of duty and is criminally punishable. Any action that sabotages the operation of the equipment will be punished to the full extent of the law.
