"Democracy is fragile"/ Shehi: The biggest drama, the departure of the

Politician Dashamir Shehi shared today a critical approach to the situation in the country, also linking it to a retrospective of the early 1990s.

In an interview, Shehi stated that unlike the illusion of Albanians in those years, the creation of a democratic society requires economic and cultural evolution.

According to Shehi, the new generation must bring change to the country, through a mentality that could change Albanian politics for the better.

"When we started democracy, we thought that by establishing democratic institutions and making some laws, we would make Albania like the rest of Europe. This was a vain illusion. Creating a democratic society requires an economic and cultural evolution, when institutions have a tradition, we have tried to make democracy before, but today, democracy is fragile and incapable of creating strong and independent democratic institutions. I am sorry that the best and most educated part of Albania is outside of it. This is a drama of a nation and a serious government should think about this matter. This is the biggest problem that the country has today. Albanian politics has not tried to establish the state, but to take power. This is the mentality today and I hope that the new generation will bring change. Tirana today offers many more things for the youth and the people, but it has lost the human relationship. From the time of childhood and youth, what I miss is precisely the human relationship that we had with each other," said Shehi. /CNA
