The deputy of the Democratic Party, Ina Zhupa, has reacted after the Economy Commission overturned the decree of President Meta, who returned to the Assembly the law on granting the Butrint park with a concession.

In a post on social networks, Zhupa calls the vote in the Economic Commission shameful, while adding that the laws, the constitution and the Paris convention have been violated.

She also writes that the vote was predetermined and that the President's decree was not read at all.

" The removal of the right to speak contrary to the regulation was the shameful display of fear that arguments in favor of the decree would have a public voice.

The shame of the economy commission is that it votes by default against the president's decree and in favor of Butrint's concession.

The sin of concession has fallen because the laws, the constitution and the convention of Paris have been violated. The state has given up the role it is obliged to have by the Paris convention.

There is no model in the world where the state is in a secondary role, represented as a minority part in the management and administration of cultural property.

The president's decree was not read at all nor was it taken into account, civil society was not allowed in the commission, the opposition's right to speak was denied, the public interest was trampled. Buntrit was treated by the economy commission simply as a commercial commodity that should be given as soon as possible with a concession." - writes Ina Zhupa./ CNA.al
