Boiken Abazi: The vote for Belin, demolishes the 10-year rule
The opposition candidate for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi and the head of the Vetëvendosje Movement in Albania, Bojken Abazi

Boiken Abazi of the Vetëvendosje Movement in Albania, activist and lecturer, has made an analysis today on his social network, where he talks about the importance of participating in the elections.

According to him, non-participation is a help for the continuation of the party in power.

On the other hand, Boiken Abazi urges that voting and voting for Belind Kelliç for mayor is the only way to deconcrete the 10-year rule in the country.

Meanwhile, for subjects, he would prefer new parties to receive support.

Full statement:

Non-participation in voting is not neutrality (a proposal for local elections in Albania)

In most elections, the ruling party benefits if turnout is low. Having the power, it is easier to organize on the ground to get its base in the polls. This also applies to these elections in Albania. This applies especially to Albania, when we see the way the government uses all the public means at its disposal to win the elections. So, whoever is thinking of not voting in these elections, because he/she is not convinced by either party, and thinks that through non-participation he/she maintains his/her purity, he/she has not done the calculations well. A society is affected not only by the acts we perform, but also by the acts we choose not to perform. Like it or not, by not voting, we side with the government (although not intentionally). Therefore,

This does not mean that voting brings about real change. In fact, even if there is a change of power, it is unlikely that there will be significant changes for citizens from the major parties that are currently competing. It is difficult even that the vote is not stolen. I know this because I saw it in the last elections, we recorded it with our mobile phones and published it, we also saw it from the cameras of the CEC and we also published those images that proved without a doubt who stole the votes and how they stole them. even after voting, at the counting tables. Despite the video denunciations to the CEC, the Police and so on, no one was convicted. No one.

How to act then, if when we don't vote we side with the government indirectly, and if we vote it doesn't mean that we change something, and even the vote can be stolen from us? The dilemma is not small, but there is a difference. The first case of non-voting is sure to help the government. The second case, there is a probability, however small, that it will have an impact, however small. It is easier for the government to steal a few votes than a flood of votes. Therefore, voting remains a more meaningful option, always without lying to yourself about the situation and the actors who are competing.

Who shall we vote for then? Everyone has to decide for themselves, but in Tirana, a solution could be:

1. Vote for president: Belind Këlliçi, as an opportunity to demolish the 10-year rule over Albania.

2. Vote for the City Council: new political subjects!

The thoughts and opinions expressed above are personal, and no one other than me is responsible for them./ CNA.al
