Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha stated at the IX Global Forum in Azerbaijan that the 'Open Balkans' initiative is a strong Russian interest.

Berisha stated that Soros has been present at every meeting while emphasizing that it is not known where his connection with Russia lies, but it is very worrying.

He added that the US has been and is the main shareholder in resolving conflicts in the Balkans and the EU.

According to Berisha, "we must solve our problems with our neighbors by emphasizing that we do not have to take them to the EU."

"Ballkani i Hapur fatkeqësisht mbështetej fuqishëm nga Soros, në çdo takim ai ka qenë i pranishëm dhe në fakt kemi një përshtjellim për të kuptuar se çfarë lidh ambiciet e Rusisë në rajon dhe projektet e Soros, nuk di ku qëndron lidhja, por di të them që është shqetësuese dhe duhet të ndalet.

Marrëveshja mes Shqipërisë, Kosovës dhe Serbisë është thelbësore. Procesi pas 10 vitesh që mbetet një proces europian duhet të jetë proces europian dhe i lidhur me SHBA.

SHBA-të kanë qenë dhe janë aksioneri kryesor në zbutjen e konflikteve në rajon, janë aksioneri kryesor në sigurimin e Ballkanit dhe Europës. SHBA-të janë të rëndësishme të jenë këtu së bashku, nuk përjashtoj BE-në, por të jenë së bashku.
