Berisha: We pledge that pensions and salaries will be equal to other Balkan

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a meeting in Kuçova this Sunday. Berisha expressed his commitment that pensions and salaries be equal to other Balkan countries.

Regarding salaries in the region, Berisha provided some examples and statistics for countries such as Montenegro, Kosovo and Romania.

Berisha said that the changes in these countries have come because the government distributes money, returns the money to those it takes from.

Berisha said that on May 11, this situation will end.

"Yes, friends, the money belongs to the citizens."

In 2013, by implementing this principle, we achieved that Albanian citizens with state salaries, Albanian pensioners, would have higher salaries than all pensioners from other Balkan countries, would have higher pensions. Yes. Yes.

What happened in 12 years? In 12 years, Montenegrins who received in 2013 a pension of 138 thousand lekë, while the average pension in Albania was 143 thousand lekë, today receive a pension of 450 thousand lekë. But why do they receive so much? Because the government of Montenegro, responsible to its citizens, gives the right percentage to citizens in every budget.

Kosovo, a country with independence a few years ago, 3 months ago Albin Kurti allocated 100 million euros for pensioners. 100 million and it was said that every pensioner would have a 20% higher pension.

Likewise, minimum wages. In 2013, Romania, which is now a member of the EU, even at that time, had a minimum wage of 830 lei, approximately 164 euros. How much is it today? It is 3300 lei, twice as much as we have. In 2013, we had a minimum wage of 220 euros.

But why? Because the government distributes the money, returns the money to those it takes from. How can it? Good luck, they stole it from pensioners, from salaried workers. This is the truth.

Therefore, we have decided to increase salaries, to increase pensions, and our race will not stop until every citizen of this country, every pensioner of this country has a higher salary and pension than any of their peers in other Balkan countries.

This is our commitment to you. What did gentlemen do, what did this government do? This government, this year alone, put forward 8 billion euros in your taxes. And Edi Rama had determined and left a total of 16 million euros for pensioners.

When we presented the law on the living minimum of 200 euros, he said, no, this is leading us to the abyss. But to what abyss is it leading us? Is there anything more heartless than leaving 16 million euros for 870 thousand of your citizens?

"This is over," the citizen said beautifully, "they have stolen pensions, they have stolen billions from your pensions and then they say that if we increase them, we will fall into the abyss. The abyss awaits them for what they have done," Berisha said. /CNA
