"In the report of backwardness, Albania is similar to Afghanistan"/

Prime Minister Edi Rama was present at a meeting with professors and students in Vlora.

During his lifetime, Rama said that Albania was once as backward as Afghanistan, while today it is close to realizing an old dream, such as EU membership.

"I want to focus on the answer about the EU, because I think about it as if it were about myself: if I weren't in this job and I wasn't forced to learn, I wouldn't have any idea of ??the complexity and usefulness of that process.

I sometimes use it as a comparison that Albania, in terms of backwardness compared to others, was very similar to Afghanistan, and in fact Albania today is at another level and is close to realizing an old dream of its European affiliation, while Afghanistan returned to the Taliban.

The difference is here: they don't have the opportunity that we have. We have the opportunity to become members of the European Union.

It is not a question of joining the EU, it is a path, it is an entry of knowledge for state-building. An amount of knowledge that is transferred from the EU to us in all sectors and if you look at what the negotiation process is today, then you understand how impossible it would be to reach where we have reached, and then where we will reach, if we did not have this opportunity.

"The negotiation process is a dialogue with two parties that each involve 1,000 people. Because the process affects everything, everything related to the state ," said Rama./ CNA
