The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, unveiled the program for increasing salaries and pensions at tonight's protest.

Berisha said that the DP will raise the minimum wage in Albania to 500 euros and the average wage will reach 1200 euros.

He also stated that he will refund pensioners all the VAT on food purchases they make each year, which is equivalent to three pensions.

Excerpt from the speech:

Here we are, telling every pensioner that never after May 11, none of you will have less than 200 euros per month. Not only that, but each of you will have a consumer card to get your VAT back, which is equal to three pensions.

Keep the bonuses of electoral fraud to yourself, Edi Rama. We will refund pensioners the VAT on all food purchases they make in a year.

Not only that, they will have completely different prices for rents in social buildings, they will have water, electricity. And I guarantee them that this effort will not stop until they receive the largest pensions in the region. Our program has terrified them, it has blinded them because that program is bringing all its monstrous deceptions to the light of day.

We promise all low-wage workers that in Albania after May 11, within 3 months, there will be no salary below 500 euros. And that this will be the threshold with which we will move towards the highest minimum wage in the region. Within a year, the average salary will be 1200 euros.

My friends, we are the party of low taxes. We believe that money in the pockets of citizens is more valuable to society and the citizen than in the state coffers. Therefore, small businesses, look at what the fraudster is doing. He has increased your local taxes tenfold. I guarantee small businesses that after May 11, first they will be halved, secondly they will move rapidly towards a fifth of them.

Energy, which today they pay 18 to 24 lek, will be 3.2 times lower. It will be 7 lek. Tariffs for business premises will be divided by three. They will be reduced three times.
