The former democratic deputy, Mark Marku, has commented on the situation within the Democratic Party and the measures imposed on former prime minister Sali Berisha. 

In a television studio, Marku emphasizes that he sees the situation involving the PD and the chief democrat Sali Berisha as the end of an era of transition.

Marku further underlines that Albanian politics will not be the same as it has been in 30 years.

"I see it as the end of an era with all the dilemmas, the problems of the transition era and how the change will be made... Neither Albanian politics nor political life will be the same as it has been in 30 years. The myth of political parties in Albania is falling. One of the pillars of this system that we have had for 30 years is being hit here, which is Sali Berisha, and I think that there is something... what happened today should have happened at the beginning of the process with Berisha. SPAK was in an unreasonable hurry, what it did today, it could have done the first time. SPAK itself has created the possibility for this process to be politicized. The fate of leading parties, where the leader falls, so do the parties. The opposition will be in the most difficult day. If Berisha found some figures and told you "take over the party now" and if he opened a process of real restructuring, not words, the PD would not be hit so hard. Now the DP is in a very delicate situation", said Marku.
