A quantity of spoiled milk is blocked/ AKU fined in three businesses

The National Food Authority has imposed punitive measures on several businesses in Durrës, Elbasan and Kukas for unsafe food. 

During the checks carried out in Durrës, Elbasan and Kukës counties, the AKU inspection bodies in three entities "Production and processing unit of milk and its by-products", "Restaurant with mixed products" and "Food products trading unit", have found problems with food safety.

AKU announces that it blocked a quantity of fresh milk because it was unsafe, and in two other businesses there was a lack of documentation regarding the products. 

"In one of the subjects referred to the test report of the fresh milk product, a quantity of milk destined for disposal as unsafe food was blocked and an administrative measure was taken to partially stop the production activity of the fresh milk product, while in the two subjects others have been found, lack of documentation in the HACCP self-control system and deficiencies in labeling", the announcement states. 

For these detected violations, the inspection bodies imposed administrative measures with a fine of 500,000 ALL.

AKU, on the eve of the New Year holidays, has further intensified controls to protect the health of consumers./CNA
