The candidate of the Socialist Party for Shkodra, Benet Beci, has published on Facebook one of the projects he envisioned for the city.

The first project published by Benet Beci aims to create a park on the edge of Buna, which will be a relaxing and fun park for citizens.

He further explained the details of the project, which according to him will serve as a lung for the city and will be about 18 hectares.

"PUBLIC INVESTMENTS.

1. CITY ENTRANCE, ALBANIA'S EUROPEAN CARD

Starting today, I will make public a set of strategic projects, which are the heart of my detailed program for the transformation of Shkodra.

Shkodra's waterfront with the Buna bridge, the Bazaar and the port in Buna can often be found on old postcards with the inscription "Reminder from Shqipnia". This area is always in the memories of travelers throughout the centuries as one of the most symbolically and economically important places in Albania. The entrance to Shkodra today, although among the most beautiful in Europe, gives you a bad impression among the traffic, urban chaos and poorly conceived and built public projects.

Two years ago, I joined the cause raised in the very fair protests of civil society and the Shkodran community for the work stoppage for the second lot of the bypass, better known as that pile of gravel that hinders the centuries-old relationship between the city and the lake. After many efforts, at the end of 2021, the ban on this investment was reached and the engagement of well-known international and local architectural and engineering studios began for a long-term, aesthetic and functional solution at the service of the citizens of Shkodra. I think we have managed to have an extraordinary project that will be the cornerstone of Shkodra's transformation.

The project has been prepared by the Albanian Development Fund, with 100% financing of the Albanian Government and is ready for implementation.

The project includes the creation of a park by the Buna which will create the largest recreational and entertainment park in Shkodër. The park, in addition to the old flower garden, will also extend to the area between the two bypasses (Lot 1 and 2), creating a new concept of a sports park and other recreational functions that coexists with seasonal flooding when the lake level rises in winter. The park will be a lung of the city full of greenery with an area of ??about 18 hectares and will create a new relationship between the city and the lake as an ecological coexistence in respect of environmental values; A network of roads and alleys for pedestrians and bicycles that connect nature with panoramic roads; an exceptional venue for public events;

This project also includes the expansion of the road from Harku I Bërdica to Ura e Bahcallek, including the expansion of the bridge to four lanes. The project will also provide a solution to traffic at the intersections and to the flow of traffic from the Bahcallek Bridge to the roundabout of the new bypass towards the intersection in Xhabije. It will create a normal circulation for cars, public transport and especially pedestrians and bicycles to comfortably reach one of the most beautiful areas of our city," he writes./ CNA.al
