During the period 15 - 30 January 2025, Datacentrum and Barometri - Euronews Albania asked 1600 citizens across Albania about Trust in institutions and the evaluation of the work of SPAK.
The survey findings show that:
On a scale of 0-10 where 0 indicates no trust at all and 10 indicates maximum trust, out of 1600 citizens surveyed face-to-face, 42.2% of them rated SPAK with maximum values. If we compare citizens' responses for more than 2 years to the same question, using the same measurement scale from the Euronews Albania Barometer since November 2022, it results that at the end of January 2025 SPAK's trustworthiness has reached the highest level compared to the six previous measurements.

Not only trust in SPAK, but also the assessment of SPAK's work at the end of January 2025 is at the highest level, with 60.5% of respondents positively assessing SPAK's work to date. Meanwhile, only 12.7% of citizens assess it negatively and 24.7% are neutral in response.

If we analyze the profile of citizens politically, the majority of those who highly evaluate SPAK's work to date are Socialist Party voters in 2021 (82.5% of those who voted SP). Regarding Democratic Party voters, 43.8% of those who voted DP in 2021 have a positive assessment of SPAK.
Does the government or the opposition support SPAK in its work? Data collected at the end of January 2025 show that 67.7% of respondents believe that the government supports SPAK in its work and 21.9% think the opposite, that is, that they do not support it. Regarding the opposition's support for SPAK's work, 29.5% of citizens think that the opposition supports SPAK and 57.9% of them think the opposite.

Can the government hinder the work of SPAK? When asked at the end of January 2025, the majority of citizens said No (49%). Meanwhile, 38.3% of them think that the government can hinder SPAK.

We emphasize that this data was collected before the arrest of Tirana Mayor Erjon Veliaj and the positions regarding SPAK by Prime Minister Edi Rama. To understand the impact that these recent developments and political positions will have on citizens' support for SPAK in the future, we will look at the second measurements of the Euronews Albania Barometer in March 2025./ Euronews
