The Ombudsman/ Adriana Kalaja appeals to the Constitutional Court: I have found

Lawyer Adriana Kalja has appealed to the Constitutional Court the process of electing the Ombudsman.

In a statement to the media, Kalaja announced that he has requested that the Constitutional Court determine the incompatibility of this process and annul it as unconstitutional.

Kalaja also announced that he has requested the suspension of the legal effects brought about by this process.

The lawyer said that she has also requested the exclusion of judge Marsida Xhaferrlarri, due to a conflict of interest, given that Kalaja has filed a complaint against her.

 

" During the process of electing the People's Advocate, I have found serious violations. I have asked the Court of Justice to find the incompatibility of this process and to annul it as unconstitutional and illegal. I have also brought a request for the suspension of the legal effects that this process has brought.

After the complaint I filed, I requested the exclusion of Judge Xhaferllari from the trial panel.

"It has been established that all candidates, including me, on voting day were unsupported by the minimum number of 28 deputies. The Constitutional Court must speak out quickly because the longer the exercise of office by an individual who has taken it illegally is prolonged, it is unconstitutional ," said Kalaja.
