Journalist Glidona Daci shared some new details today regarding the 'Bankers Petroleum' company issue.

Invited to the show "Opinion", Daci revealed that the security measures that were implemented and led to the arrests came after a 6-month period of investigation.

"The Fier Prosecutor's Office has signed these orders by decision of the Fier Court. Due to a six-month investigation, with pro-active methods, after the signal received from the Tax Directorate. The pro-active method means wiretapping and field observations. So, photography, conversations, and wiretapping, whether environmental or telephone. A full investigation has been conducted, because it results from at least 2004 to 2024, that the company "Bankers Petroleum Albania" has been making losses every year, thus avoiding the payment of tax obligations and VAT. According to all the documents collected by the Fier Prosecutor's Office, it results that in total, due to exports, but also sales within the country, the company has had a profit or invoices that go to 5 billion euros. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the part of the expenses results in the value of 110 million euros. These are taxes that have not been paid", - said Daci./CNA
