EU Ambassador Gonzato: Recruitment in public administration should be

The EU Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, considered the inclusion of accountability in the public administration reform to be extremely important.

In his speech during the opening of the School for European Integration, Gonzato said that the administration is a key part of the country's integration process.

Gonzato also shared the criticism that recruitment should be transparent and depoliticized.

"I say that we need to be even more careful about the design of human resources. Regarding the integration process, we need to ensure that the public administration has the skills, capacities and the right structure to lead and support the process. In this context, the lack of transparency, the politicization of recruitment are things that need to be addressed. And we support the efforts made by the projects for good governance. A review of the law "On the Civil Service" is also needed. This vision aims to improve the situation at all levels. The reform in the public administration must also include accountability", - said Gonzato. /CNA
