Alibeaj hides after the meeting with the President/ He gives his statements from

PD MP, Enkelejd Alibeaj, disclosed the meeting he had with President Bajram Begaj in the framework of the 2023 local elections.

Through an announcement on social networks, Alibeaj writes about the position he expressed to the President.

"With the invitation sent by the Presidency, I held a meeting with the President of the Republic.

In respect of the institution and the Constitution, I talked with him about setting the date of the next local elections.

I expressed our position that the date of the elections should be set as early as possible within the deadlines stipulated by the Constitution and the law.

Elections are a fundamental right of Albanians, the opportunity they have to punish the government with votes.

Albanians want, even have the ultimate request to punish this government with a vote because they have an open account with this regime.

Therefore, it is our obligation to obey their need, and to create this constitutional opportunity for the Albanians. As soon as possible!

During the meeting, I also considered important the fact that the President of the Republic should express his opinion on setting the date after the term of the Administrative-Territorial reform commission ends (October 21), so that it does not become an obstacle for the review of this reform, which is requested by all Albanians," Alibeaj wrote./CNA.al
