In his letter sent in 1930 to Dhimitër Pasko or as we know Mitrush Kutelit, Lasgush Poradeci uses a very interesting term which, although written 1 century ago, seems shocking and also enlightening at the same time because it applies as if it was written for today, for the year 2024.

Lasgushi writes: Here, dear friend, a heavy spirit of spiritual poverty dominates everyone's life, muffles the herald voice of a more joyful hope, of an ideal with more light...

Please read this sentence and tell me it doesn't shake your whole being.

Doesn't it seem to you that the voice of Lasgush kisses you like the voice of conscience, like the call of the soul and the numbing truth when you read these words that seem like they were written now, but a hop ago?

Don't you think of all the people of your everyday life, in every cafe, pub, restaurant, street corner, sidewalk, traffic light, workplace, routine conversation, dinner, lunch, wedding, wedding, circumcision, baptism, birthday and excursion, picnic or bus, train or van?

All of them angry, in a race to cry and whine, to complain and whine, all angry, cynical, skeptical, doubting, cursing and cursing, all like a bag of poison, scum and bile...

This type of citizen is everywhere, in every neighborhood, city and village, and even in the Diaspora. This type of citizen is both the man and the woman, both the young and the old, the poor and the wealthy, the underachiever and the VIP...

It doesn't matter where you are from, what you are, how poor or rich you are, what status or social condition you have, in general, your description has as a fundamental characteristic exactly this type of citizen.

So it is neither a matter of economic wealth or poverty, nor fame or nothingness, misery or brilliance, mediocrity or virtuosity, nor career or unemployment, nor education or ignorance...

Not at all.

This Albanian citizen of today is faithfully the spiritual engraving of that Albanian citizen of 1930, which Lasgush Poradeci has so clearly and boldly engraved with his words.

We are like this, and in this state, not because we are economically poor, but because we are spiritually poor... Economic poverty makes you put your head down and look for work. Spiritual poverty makes you lower your expectations and not move from your place. Spiritual poverty traps you in LIMBO, neither in heaven nor on earth. You get stuck, you get suspended, you get stuck.

That's why we Albanians are the only nation in the world that naturally has the daily phrase to kill without trial and without warning: we delay the time...

All nations know that time is killed, wasted, lost, flies, etc, etc... Only we have the illusion that time is postponed.

You live your days like the same day, like forced military service in the time of communism when everyone warned everyone that the enemy was coming to our door, and everyone knew that nothing would happen and we did nothing.

Communism alienated us so barbarically that it created the idiotic illusion that the "new man" does not need to dream of time travel, because his partisanship is enough to be equipped with the miraculous power to delay time.

We old people also forgot Newton, when he warned us with his Law of Pushing Forces that everything you push, comes back and pushes you back.

Thus, we forgot or underestimated the power of time, and as we postponed time, it pushed us back so much that today, after 1 century, we seem to be on the same day.

The spiritual poverty and the postponement of time risk leading us to the loss of another century, and in 2124 or 2130 some Albanians will come to us, and when they read the Lasgushi of 1930, they will tear their hearts from the sadness that it will sound like their time.

We can even get worse in the years to come, because the engraving of Lasgushi has been superimposed on the scratch of the new man of communism that postpones time and the destruction of the complaining citizen.

Things have reached such a point where if all the Jews made their Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, we Albanians have reached a level of personal and national complaint when it seems that each of us has raised a personal Wailing Wall.

Let's work, dissolve, die out, to create a new life in the midst of death, closes his letter to Mitrushi, Lasgushi. We did not hear the description and prediction from Lasgushi. At least let's listen to the order. The time has come for us Albanians to change our day. Time is not delayed, time dies.
