Mero Baze: Saliu is next in line for prison

Opinion from Mero Baze!

There is an attempt to mock the January 21 murders, especially the rite of their commemoration. The murderers have begun to have a sense of pride in that act, telling the murdered, as if: “Here it is, 14 years have passed, and justice continues to be with us.”

If you look at Sali Berisha's portals or the social networks of his soldiers even today, there is an attempt to ironize those who commemorate January 21st, as "hypocrites" or as people who "did not keep their promises."

Sali Berisha himself even said that since that night he has been demanding an international investigation into the incident - one of his usual lies, which he tries to gain traction with people who are not very interested in what happened.

All this comes from the fact that January 21 is a crime related to political mentality, more than a crime that occurred when the situation got out of control. On January 21, Sali Berisha ordered the killings when the protest was over, when the protesters were dispersing, and when he felt humiliated by them. It will take a long time to shed light on that moment when he told the Guard troops, in a fit of rage, “kill them.” But it is certain that, in such moments, a politician reveals what he keeps hidden inside.

All the justifications he tries to give for these 14 years – why he killed – are vulgar, like “they crossed the security line,” “they broke the bunker regulations,” and other nonsense.

If today's government, that of Edi Rama since 2013, were to implement Berisha's arguments for killing protesters who attack government buildings or set them on fire, 3-4 democrats would have to be killed every month, who set buildings on fire, break doors and windows of government buildings and penetrate the spaces of Berisha's "regularity". But they have not killed them; not because there are no cases, but because they do not have the mentality of murderers in power. If they had, the impunity of the crime of January 21 would be a great alibi for them, to kill without getting "a thorn in their side".

If it were as Sali Berisha claims, he himself would no longer urge his people to force their way into the doors of the Prime Minister's Office or ministries, with flames in their hands and Molotov cocktails, because he would be reminded of the "regulations" that he himself says protect the institutions.

What seals all this evil is the fact that Berisha destroyed the evidence of the registration of the Republic Guard that night. He copied the data to an external disk card, before appearing at the press conference at 7:30 PM on January 21, and at midnight, he changed the hard disk, erasing everything. And there was an international investigation for this: the FBI investigated it, which uncovered this scandal. After that, Berisha refused any investigation and no trial of the case, releasing the Guard commander from prison – caught red-handed, not only as an orderer, but also as a manipulator of evidence, after changing the barrel of the pistol after the murders.

Thus, all those who feel "victorious" on every January 21st, with the reason "we were killed and nothing happened to us," should understand that they are very lucky that, after 2013, a government did not come to power that implements the "rules" invented by Berisha for murder. Because now we would be placing flowers on their graves. Fortunately, it did not happen. And Sali Berisha remains the only "murderer" in this country.

It's his turn. To prison!
