Anastas Janullatus and the shameful silence of the Anatolian Albanians!

Anastas Janullatus and the shameful silence of the Anatolian Albanians!
Journalist Renaldo Salianji

For days, the Archbishop of the Autocephalous Church of Albania has been fighting with his life. Anastasi is one of the most important personalities that Albania has been lucky enough to have. His presence in Albania, at the most critical moment for the existence of the Albanian Church, is another proof that God really loved Albania.
A world-class intellectual, studies, doctor of sciences in several disciplines and "Doctor Honoris Causa" from more than 50 world Universities and Institutes. Missionary and theologian par excellence!
Knowledge of 11 languages, among which is Albanian!
Author of 24 books (research on African Religions, essays in Theology and History of Missions, sermons, etc.), including: "Islam, an overview" (16 editions)!

He has been honored with 27 medals and awards from many Orthodox Churches and different countries.

Anastasi is the man who raised the Albanian Church from the grave and restored the Autocephalous Church of Albania from the irretrievable loss it had embarked on during the dark years of Communism.

And with all this profile, He, as a missionary of God, lived a modest life, not only unappreciated, but questioned by an Anatolian mentality, just for the fact that he was born Greek.

These days, Archbishop Anastasi is fighting with his life, at the age of 95. He is intubated today, with little hope of success.

Big and small, politicians and intellectuals, Greek government and opposition leaders and beyond, church leaders and religious personalities went to visit him in the hospital.

But for their shame, the Albanians are silent!
Any Albanian politician, even out of kindness, did not write a line about him, showing their short-sightedness. I doubt that our politicians would be so "Albanian" if it wasn't an election year in a country with a Muslim majority population, and patriots drowning in a finger of water!

These days, they also destroyed the facade of religious harmony, which we trumpet and are proud of, since no other religious community sent a message for a speedy recovery for Archbishop Anastas.

Albania, to which he dedicated his life, did not dedicate even a prayer to him, as he fights with his life!

Anastas' work these years, from His enthronement to the present day, is absolutely a success story. His devotion raised the Church from oblivion, and gave it the glory it had never had.

Anastas' commitment during the Kosovo war is one of the things for which that man should be honored and respected.

But accustomed to facade, appearances, boasting and ignorance, we as a people do not value modesty and humility. Anastasi lived modestly, he never shouted about what he was doing, he never got involved in debates and he did not incite dissension either by word or deed, that is why he was never recognized by the Albanians in his entire dimension, and he was not appreciated in the degree He deserves.

As a Muslim believer, I know that people of religion believe in the principle that this life is temporary, and that one day we will all leave to live another life, the one that is eternal and eternal. Even Anastasi is mortal and one day, sooner or later, he will leave this life, but His work will remain here, perhaps to be appreciated by the best Albanians who will come later!

May God be with him in these difficult days, and do the best for him!
