What is left of the DP that we founded with idealism, dreams and hope in December '90?

Except for some proper name - nothing. Neither the founding intellectuals, nor the founding students, even our call from the heart: "We love Albania like all of Europe!" it sounds funny.

The founders, with few exceptions, retired or went to God.

The founding students became disillusioned and soon withdrew, naturally those who were not ostracized from the beginning.

Today, 33 years later, what is left?

Or just questions and anxiety: Has PD closed its cycle, like the "right" parties that "overthrew" communism in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc?

If so, how? Refound, reform, or create a new political force?

To find the strength to rise again on himself?

Is such a thing possible?

Who should be the ones to undertake this mission?

How credible is the current political class for such a change?

Do the current actors and factors maintain the status quo of this system, or can they complete the transition?

Today, I say with regret that the right in Albania does not exist, in its traditional concept. It's just a progressively shrinking DP. In these 32 years, it was invested so that in Albania there would not be a strong right, as a governing alternative for the country.

The right was fragmented, never to be united and never inspired, while our pluralistic system was a system where parties were simply seen as private property, parties without elections, parties with family rotation, parties without real elements of legitimacy, democracy and competition; party without values ??and democratic principles of functioning, decision-making, representation.

Personally, I have sought and hoped for the union, not an empty union in content, but a union, which for many members of the DP was all these years at the foundation of the political plan as a condition for real change.

I believed that the union of the two parts (today three) of the DP should not be a mechanical union, but should be a real and true union.

I am already convinced that there will be no more union, because they don't want the union. It's just that everyone wants a party, or from a party for their own interests.

I believed and continue to believe that serious discussion, fruitful self-criticism of the mistakes and shortcomings of the previous period, which weighs on everyone, the elaboration of a new serious and radical plan to break away from the past, a new plan for to change relations at the political level through a broad alliance against this sect and the defense of democracy, a plan of democratic reconstruction and social organization that will use knowledge and skills making society participative, the claim for a different model of governance as well as a role of the party, was and is the only way to overcome the crisis and to gather and rebuild the party.

But every dream always ends when the morning comes and you sit with your feet on the ground and see reality in your eyes. I may be wrong, but I'm afraid that the DP, founded in December '90, has long since run out of candle oil.

There is no opposition! Now it's just the farce of greedy thieves.

Of those who, as Pehlivans, turned from loyal friends in June 2021 into sworn enemies in September of the same year, from chronic losers to promises of victories and overthrows of the regime; from promises of free, honest and fair elections even within the party to manipulators of elections in all structures.

The farce of playing a new game with old players, which cost ordinary Democrats dearly.

Because Rama with his 700,000 votes, mathematically, logically, politically, neither the 110,000 votes of DP, nor the 270,000 votes of Re-establishment and PL together can defeat him.

Kush beson këtë gjë është i verbër dhe thjesht sa justifikon impotencën e vet politike, të cilën ua injekton ditë për ditë me doza të mëdha shqiptarëve.

E vetmja fitore që do të kenë dy- tre PD-të do të jenë fitoret ndaj njëra- tjetrës. Dhe le të kthehem tek thelbi i shkrimit.

Që të fitosh, duhet të kesh moral, ndërgjegje dhe kujtesë historike. Të dish të bësh analiza dhe të ndërmarrësh edhe operacione të vështira kur lind nevoja.

Të kapërcesh vetveten, egoizmin, përçarjen dhe urrejtjen. Në të kundërt do të jetë e padiskutueshme dhe e qartë si drita e diellit që Shqipëria do të ketë për shumë vite akoma qeverisje njëpartiake.

Askush nuk është naiv të mendojë që demokracia në Shqipëri nuk është realisht në një moment kritik.

Por, mesa duket Shqipëria, po shkon drejt modelit të Meksikës, i cili është një vend pluralist, d.m.th shumëpartiak, por me drejtim të pandërprerë të shtetit për 71 vite rresht nga Partia Institucionale Revolucionare, e cila mund të ketë ndryshuar disa herë emrin e partisë apo elitat e veta gjatë viteve në pushtet, por në thelb krijoi modelin e drejtimit njëngjyrësh të Meksikës.

Dhe të mos harrojmë që Meksika është në kufi me shtetin më demokratik të botës, SHBA. Shqipëria, megjithëse po shkon drejt modelit qeverisës të Meksikës, nuk e ka luksin të hyjë qorrazi dhe pa reflektim në rrugën e këtij modeli, produkti i të cilit është rrënues.

Sidomos kur mbajtja e pandërprerë e pushtetit vjen si rrjedhojë e veprimit të ligjit të të fortëve, abuzimeve dhe arrogancës.
