By Andi Bushati/ Who does the "republic of prosecutors" serve?
Analyst Andi Bushati

Edi Rama can complain as much as he wants, about the establishment of the "republic of prosecutors", which means the immeasurable power, to the point of abuse, of SPAK, but so far, the facts show that he is the biggest beneficiary. its big. The last decision, signed by Altin Duman, to prevent the leader of the opposition from going to the parliament, is nothing more than a translation into legal language of the political motto: "We do not talk and we do not cooperate with non gratats".

The whole noisy process of the privatization file of the Partizani club has shown nothing but a conflict of interests between the prosecutors and the prime minister. The former decided to illegally strip Berisha of his immunity and then demand his arrest without a proper parliamentary process. The socialist MPs certified this practice with their votes, recognizing the Spakists more rights than the constitution and the law recognize. They sanctioned that the removal of the freedom of a person elected by the people can be done even without the blessing of the assembly, and they even raised the cards to approve the measure of arrest, without the need for the accusation to present evidence. This was a moment for the parliamentary majority to be attentive to the balance and control of powers, although this time it was "falling on the neck" of its biggest political opponent. Rama and his people did not. To speak after this about the danger of the republic of prosecutors is simply hypocrisy.

So far, in the process against Berisha, SPAK has done exactly what Edi Rama and his ilk have imagined in their wildest dreams. The mission that Basha could not accomplish with the expulsion, that the CEC did not have the opportunity to do with the attempts to burn the mandate, that the courts could achieve by stealing the seal, SPAK is accomplishing with the isolation of Berisha. And the climax will be if after five months, the heroes of our children, in cooperation with the renaissance deputies, will expel Berisha from the parliament, with the excuse that he did not show up for work.

The same fable as with the leader of the opposition is being repeated by SPAK with one of the leaders of the Greek minority in Albania. The Special Prosecutor's Office is giving the prime minister the gift that the people of Himara refused to give him. Whoever remembers Rama's speech, in a rally with the sea as a background, will remember that he prayed for exactly this: "Don't force me to cooperate with this idiot, ignorant". The Greek minority and many Albanians decided by vote exactly this. But Rama's request was made possible by SPAK, which not only keeps Beleri in prison, claiming that he spent 40,000 lek to buy votes, but without letting him take the oath, even though he is still presumed innocent.

In this case, SPAK prosecutors are no different, neither from the renaissance dallkauks employed in the prisons directorate, nor from those political gendarmes who ransacked the Himara cemetery, on the day Fredi Beleri's grandmother was hanged.

These two cases show that SPAK prosecutors are seized by a servility and fear that make them look like angels, Alush Dragoshin or Arben Qeleshin of the time of the first Berisha. They are acting as tools of the next powerful. Therefore, Rama's statements about the danger of the republic of prosecutors, what he says in private conversations to diplomats, the warnings he gives to the directors of the administration not to cooperate with SPAK, should not be taken seriously at all. They are either part of an old tactic of the one who throws the stone and hides the hand, to cover up as much as possible the fact that the reform of the Americans and Europeans has been seized by the renaissance, or simply the paranoia of an almighty who has some left minimum segments within the SPAK without checking it.

But regardless of which of these hypotheses is closer to reality, the facts so far show that our society is not at all endangered by a bunch of prosecutors who can become uncontrollable by other forces within the system. The risk is always the same, that of using justice as a tool that the government uses against its political rivals. The fear is not in the installation of a "republic of prosecutors", which presumes their power beyond the law, but in their transformation into illegal scarecrows.
