Senate blocks 43 State Department nominations

A senator has blocked 43 nominations of the American State Department, including Ambassador Kostelnacik in Tirana. Still, there is no deputy secretary in the Department.

Why did it happen?

I pointed out in "Focus" that 3 senators had blocked the voting of 450 appointments in the Pentagon and 43 in the Department of State. If they were not voted in the last week of 2023, the process starts all over again.

So the Department can re-nominate those it had nominated and the President has to make those nominations again in writing.

Here the delays increase, because every reappointment will go through again for "hiring" in the senate. This is a game of nerves, and some eyes can even be drawn.

So far Kostelnacik has not withdrawn, but the stubborn senator who has blocked Blinken's nominations, has the opportunity to continue to block and these nominations will not be voted on until November.

The Senate made a concession when it voted for the ambassador to Israel, who was also blocked on Kostelnacik's list.

The Senate has a lot of power. Blinken refuses the senator's demands and he blocks. This harms National Security and in our case, lowers the level of relations. For the Rama-Fuga couple, buying silence continues. Beware of the rock! Someone told him at JFK, when they were both detained for over an hour and a half.
