Today marks 96 years since Albania joined the European continent, and the Balkan factor in a historic moment for the Albanian nation, the legal and constitutional consecration, the establishment of the system in the country's governance, the monarchist system on September 2, 1928 for the construction of the modern Albanian state.

The Albanian kingdom would have an extraordinary role in building the modern, progressive, economic and cultural Albanian state. Above all, the consequent protection of the freedom and rights of Albanians in their ethnic lands in the Balkans, after the European injustice done to our nation, the fragmentation of the lands at the London Conference in 1913.

The occupation of Vlora by the Italians, and the northern provinces by the Serbo-Montenegros, called into question the independence of the Albanian state in 1912. And it was a national necessity to hold the Congress of Lushnja, for the very existence of the borders of 1913, as well as the freedom of the nation .

He came from a noble family, one of the oldest in the nation and with contributions to his country for more than five centuries. His grandfather, Xhemal Pasha Mati, was one of the protagonists of the leadership of the League of Prizren, and a patriot and patriot who aligned himself with Abdyl Frashëri, Imer Prizren, Sulejman Vokshi, and Iljaz Pasha Dibra.

At the age of 17, on behalf of the province of Mati, Ahmet Zogu would sign the act of independence of Albania in Vlora and guaranteed Ismail Bey Vlora, the father of independence, that he would fight without compromise in its defense. This outstanding patriot would organize the Congress of Lushnja, he would protect that congress from the attacks of the invaders who had divided Albania into pieces.

After receiving his duties from that congress, this great Albanian, with unparalleled courage and bravery, would head towards Tirana, making it the capital of Albania, and ensuring the government of Sulejman Delvina to implement the program of the Lushnja Congress. The political career of Ahmet Zogut is brilliant, his state-forming battles with political and military actions made the government's authority extend to the entire territory of the country, suppressing the separatist movements, organized and paid for by neighboring states that did not want him well. Albania, and guaranteed the state borders, forcing the League of Nations to recognize the Albanian state, Minister of the Interior, 1920, Prime Minister in the years 1922-1924, President of the Republic 1925-1928 and King of the Albanians 1928-1939, has bright traces of indelible in modern Albanian history.

Unfortunately, the Albanian dictatorship and bolshevik ideologues have anathema and distorted for almost 80 years with anti-Albanian propaganda, elevating as heroism the anti-national rebellion of Haxhi Qamili, a remnant of pro-Turkish phalanxes, and serving the treason of the government of Durrës, which had anti-Albanian intent to create a country just like middle Albania.

His political history tells us the complete opposite of what the phalanxes of the communist dictatorship trumpet. His stance in support of Prince Vid, his resignation as Prime Minister in 1924 with the coup d'état made by admirers of Bolshevism of those years, the so-called democratic revolution, with ideological views that harmed the newly formed Albanian state.

His behavior as a politician, patriot and great statesman was shown when he was assassinated in the parliament when with his calmness and foresight he clearly showed that he put national interests above everything else and was a disciple of the nation-state.

Throughout his political career, he did not take power with violence and weapons as his opponents did, but only with votes and western democratic laws.

On December 24, 1924, he was able to put an end to the leftist rebellion and earned the epithet "savior of the nation".

The complete political stability, rapid economic and cultural progress that occurred during the presidential period, time, called him as the most prominent personality to sit on the royal throne.

Rightly, his political opponents like Fan Noli, Faik Konica, and above all Sejfi Vllamasi, would appreciate his contribution, and would declare that if it wasn't for Ahmet Zogu, the existence of the Albanian state would be in question! That is why he aligns himself with the bright figures of the nation, like Skënderbeu who gave us the name and dignity as Albanians. The leaders of the connection of Prizren who defended and internationalized the Albanian issue in the Balkans, the Independence of Albania led by the elder of Vlora, Ismail bey Vlora, and the construction of the Albanian state by the great and immortal, Ahmet Zogu.

The Albanian kingdom lived only a decade, it left its own indelible historical stamp. The modern parliamentary kingdom confirmed not only by the will of the people, but also supported by legal status. It was not born as a tyrannical crown, but as a modern kingdom and forced the great powers to recognize it as an independent neutral principality and by the acts of the Congress of Lushnja, which created the Regency or Council of State with the attributes of a royal Regency that the great powers recognized them since 1913.

The Albanian kingdom showed the world what a free nation can do when it breaks the shackles of slavery, it built the state of law according to the most advanced European model:

National Education on a secular basis. The Criminal and Civil Code that guaranteed the equality of citizens before the law. Model legislation for religious communities. Women's rights were guaranteed by law. A model state administration.

The National Bank was created and the guarantee of the national currency with gold bars. All these historic achievements were built over a decade of 10 years. Today, the political class that despises the kingdom, descendants of the communist barbarians, has not built a state of law for over three decades and does not have a stable constitution.

That's why Albanians are proud of their kingdom and King Ahmet Zogu. With right, the great writer Ismail Kadare would declare for the Albanian kingdom that if fascism did not conquer Albania, Ahmet Zogu would make Albania a second Switzerland of Europe.
