Today is the 80th anniversary of Namik Dokle; one of the most prominent personalities of the Albanian left, whom I was lucky enough to meet in my golden age; I was a correspondent for Zërit i Populli and he was the Delegate of the Presidency of the Socialist Party of Albania in the Korça Region, together with Prof. Servet Pëllumbi, etc.!

Which coincided with the first years of political pluralism when the Socialist Party of Albania was at its zenith (and the right wing as well) with representatives of the most worthy of Albanian society and the cream of its intelligentsia!

The political atmosphere and campaigns of that time were among the harshest, unfortunately with interference even down to the grassroots level, the difficulties were extraordinary, even to the point of physical clashes!

But with Namik, things were easier; he could take the armor off even the most formidable opponent!

All day long during the entire campaign, which fortunately took place very close to each other in those years, I had to spend time in the company of Namik, Serveti, Leontiev, Hajdaraga, Majko, etc., etc., to reflect on the pages of Zërit i Popullit, as the only newspaper (although with a majority of the newspaper market) at that time, in support of the Opposition!

But the day didn't end there. In the evenings I had to take an interest in their system, and sometimes when we couldn't make it (there was only one hotel in Korça), I would take them to my house.

This was also one of my father's messages: "Don't let them out, we're a little tighter, and you should bring them here at home with us!"

Even though I have a relatively complete family, with my two parents, two young children, my wife and myself...!

I could write a lot about you, dear Namik, today on your eightieth birthday, because I have so many memories, even brilliant episodes, especially in unplanned "confrontations" or even those of the moment "with opponents" that sprouted from the ground, in so many different meetings, but I'm running out of time!

And because I know that today, on this special day for you and your family, you don't have time to read the "sheets" of congratulations, I will only be content with this wish that comes from my heart to Florence, for a friend like you: Happy Birthday!
