The Mayor of Shkodra, Bardh Spahia,

The mayor of Shkodra, Bardh Spahia, conveyed messages, as he remembered January 14, 1990, the first anti-communist demonstration in Albania.

Spahia writes on social networks that today Albania is at a crossroads and is facing new forms of regime that, according to him, come camouflaged by the sons and descendants of the bloc.

The mayor of Shkodra continues his message by writing that it is their duty to work in order not to endanger the future.

" JANUARY 14, 1990 is a marked date for Shkodra and Albania!

Përkujtuam 33- vjetorin e të parës demonstratë antikomuniste në Shqipëri, që nisi nga Shkodra, qyteti i cili në asnjë rrethanë dhe kohë nuk u pajtua me të keqen. Mirënjohje dhe nderim për të gjithë djemtë dhe vajzat që atë ditë ishin aty dhe guxuan të sfidojnë një nga regjimet më barbare.

The courage and faith that the citizens of Shkodra had within them was stronger than anything else, and we need such ideals and determination even today. Albania is still at a crossroads and is facing new forms of regime, which come camouflaged by the sons and successors of the bloc. It is our duty not to forget the past and to work not to endanger the future. The example of the first democratic movements in Albania is the best model that the new generation should have as a guide!", writes Bardh Spahia./ CNA.al
