Portuguese Ruben Saraiva, who was extradited to Albania at the end of last year, has refused to cooperate with the justice authorities for the murder of businessman Ardian Nikulaj in Shengjin. 

It is reported that the 28-year-old was interrogated for about 2 hours at the Local Police Directorate in Lezhë, in the presence of the two prosecutors of the case, Erjon Shehaj and Fran?esk Ganaj.

During the conversation with the Portuguese, the representatives of the prosecution body are said to have offered him cooperation in exchange for easing the criminal charges, but Ruben Saraiva has denied his involvement in the serious incident in Shengjin.

But during the conversation, he admitted to knowing Edmond Haxhina (the suspected organizer of the assassination), where, in addition to his presence on vacation in Albania, he claimed that they had planned to plant narcotics.

The court to maintain the safety of the Portuguese citizen, Ruben Saraiva has been sent to prison 313 in Tirana, where he is waiting to face justice.

We recall that the murder of Ardian Nikulaj took place in April 2023. Nikulaj was in his bar where the hired killer entered the bar and emptied his pistol.

Arrested in Great Britain for this event are Edmond Haxhia, Stephen Hunt, Thomas Mithan, Harriet Bridgeman and Harry Simson, for whom there is still no extradition decision in Albania./ CNA
