The police in Korça have arrested the 27-year-old with the initials Sh.G and have declared the 50-year-old with the initials AS wanted

The two smuggled cars from England and sold them for parts. The police seized 36 vehicles, partially dismantled, without the relevant documentation.

Police Notification:

2 cases of trading in contraband goods and concealment of income were investigated. They sold and dismantled in parts in their service stations, vehicles which are suspected to have been smuggled into Albania, 1 citizen was arrested and work continues to capture 1 other.

Specialists for the Investigation of Economic-Financial Crimes of DVP Korçë, following the work to attack the illegal activity of smuggling goods and informality, in implementation of the measures defined in the nationwide operational plan "Rule of Law", have continued the checks in the premises /various subjects. As a result, on the "Korçë-Pogradec" road axis, near the village of Çiflig, Korçë, two cases of this illegality have been detected, where following the procedural actions, a citizen was arrested in the act:

Sh. G., 27 years old, resident of the village of Voskop, Korçë.

The materials were also referred to the Prosecutor's Office, and work continues on the capture of AS citizen, 50 years old, resident of Korça.

Based on the information provided by the police intelligence that these two citizens were carrying out illegal activities in their respective service stations, the Police services carried out checks where, specifically, in the service station of the citizen Sh. G., found 30 vehicles, without the relevant documentation, not accompanied by purchase invoices. Also, during the inspection at the service of citizen AS, which was found to be unregistered in the relevant bodies, 6 other vehicles were found, without the relevant documentation, unaccompanied by purchase invoices.

As material evidence for these two cases, 36 vehicles were seized, with disassembled parts, which are suspected to have been smuggled from England to Albania.

The work continues for the complete documentation of the case and the legal responsibility of other citizens, involved in this illegal activity.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Korça General Jurisdiction, for further actions./ CNA
