Two people arrested in Tirana / Firearms and 40 thousand euros found

Tirana Police have cracked down on two cases of illegal possession of weapons, resulting in the arrest of two people and criminal prosecution of another.

Also, 40 thousand euros were seized upon the completion of the operation.

21-year-old PK was arrested after an unauthorized firearm was found on him during a search.

While his uncle was prosecuted, who prevented the discovery of the truth.

The other person who was arrested is 30-year-old HA, who, during a search of the vehicle he was driving, was found to have an unlicensed firearm and a cash amount of 40,000 euros.

Tirana/Intensive checks to identify and detain citizens who are carrying firearms.

The police operation codenamed "Contingent" is being finalized. During the last 24 hours, 2 cases of illegal possession of firearms were cracked down on.

2 pistols, combat ammunition and around 40,000 euros suspected to be the product of criminal activities were seized.

For both cases, 2 citizens are arrested and the proceedings are ongoing, 1.

As a result of systematic controls and those based on information obtained operationally, with the aim of guaranteeing public safety and preventing criminal events, Police Commissariat No. 5 and the Special Force "Eagle", in cooperation with the Criminal Assets Tracing Section, struck during the last 24 hours, 2 cases of illegal possession of firearms. Specifically, within the framework of the "Contingent" operation:

- citizen PK, 21 years old, was arrested and his uncle, citizen AK, 46 years old, was released. During the physical search, on “George W. Bush” street, where the 2 citizens were traveling together, the 21-year-old was found to be in possession of 1 firearm, a pistol with ammunition, which he possessed without a permit. Meanwhile, the 46-year-old has obstructed the discovery of the truth, by giving contradictory statements about the case;

-Citizen HA, 30 years old, was arrested because a search of the vehicle he was driving on "Dritan Hoxha" street found 1 pistol and about 40,000 euros. He was authorized to carry a firearm, only in his apartment, while he did not have a document to prove the amount of money. Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the money.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action./ CNA
