A 25-year-old previously wanted was arrested for transporting immigrants, against 500 euros/person.

According to the police, the citizen with the initials GM had transported 8 immigrants against the value of 500 euros/person.

Also, the Blues announce that the 2 associates of the 25-year-old man, who were monitoring the road where the vehicle with the immigrants passed, have been handcuffed, in order to avoid police patrols.

"As a result of the investigative and procedural actions, to bring forward the criminal responsibility of all citizens who were implicated in a case of transporting 8 immigrants, for illegal border crossing, struck by the Police of Gjirokastra, on 23.07.2023, within the police operation coded "Road Guard 69", the specialists of the Illegal Traffic and Narcotics Investigation Section of DVP Gjirokastër, in cooperation with the services of the Krujë Police Station, located in Krujë, captured and detained the citizen GM, 25 years old, resident in Kruja.

The 25-year-old was declared wanted, after on 23.07.2023, in the place called "Kthesa e village Kodër", as soon as he saw the Police services, he abandoned the vehicle in which he was transporting, against the payment of 500 euros/person, 8 immigrants from third countries, with the aim of illegally crossing the border, towards EU countries.

Also, for this case, yesterday, the Gjirokastra Police handcuffed AB and AK citizens who were monitoring the road axis "Ura e Dragoti - Ura e Leklit", through which the citizen GM was transporting the emigrants. - it is said in the police announcement./ CNA
