A 40-year-old man was arrested in the act while moving with a Kalashnikov in the center of Libofsha.

Through an official announcement, the Blues inform that as soon as the citizen with the initials E. Gj., 40 years old, has ascertained the presence of the Police patrol, he has thrown the firearm into a canal.

Among other things, the police state that at the time of the arrest, he was in a drunken state, a circumstance that increases the danger of possessing a firearm.

"As a result of checks supported by information provided by police intelligence, as well as by the close cooperation of citizens, with the aim of preventing criminal events and arresting citizens who possess firearms, for this purpose, the services of the Fier Police Station have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Vigilance", as a result of which citizen E. Gj., 40 years old, resident of Fier, was arrested in the act.

The Police Services caught the 40-year-old man, in the center of the village of Libofshë, as he was carrying 1 Kalashnikov firearm with a cartridge in the slot, ready to fire. This citizen, having just ascertained the presence of the Police patrol, threw the firearm into a canal.

From the verifications carried out, it was found that the 40-year-old man was drunk at the time of his arrest, a circumstance that increases the risk of possessing a firearm.
