Egli Proga's sister's call/ "Don't politicize my brother's murder"

The family members of 42-year-old Egli Proga made a strong appeal in the tributes that were held this Wednesday evening in Pogradec.

The victim's father said he only wants the truth to be revealed and justice to be done.

"Only justice, the truth came out, that's all we ask for", he said.

On the other hand, Egli Proga's sister, Jonida Proga, requested that her brother's murder not be politicized.

"Dear friends, known and unknown, I thank you for being here, in the place where my brother Eglantini took his last breath. I am his sister, but since the day Egli was left here lifeless, after the barbarians of this city took his life, I will be his protector. I will protect him here after death, since I could not protect him forever.

To many, I may seem small, helpless, hopeless, or a hag in black, but I swear to you who are here or who are hiding in the shadows, that I will bring justice at all costs, that I owe it to my brother, to myself and the family. I don't want anyone to take advantage of my brother, I don't want his death to be politicized, I don't want anyone to be sadder than me or my family for him. However, I will accept everyone's help until justice is served and my brother sees it from the graveyard that it was served.

The criminals who have silenced this city and my brother will all go to prison without any discussion, like the trash who raped and took his soul here, like the heartless, cutthroats who sought to close this macabre murder with silence or with letters.

I have only one request for those who listen to me today, for Pogradecarians: Speak! Don't be afraid! Tell your truth about the thugs who took Egli's life! Prove that they can kill your brothers if they escape peacefully, show who protects them, who are the criminals behind them. I ask from the justice system, lawyers, prosecutors, judges, this time there is no money, friends, interference. Don't make the mistake of kicking and punching my brother like the barbarians who will try to buy you did, I only ask for justice, but not only as an expression, I ask for it as a deed", emphasized Jonida Proga./ CNA
