Tried to smuggle 45 thousand undeclared euros into the port of Saranda/

A case of undeclared money at the border has been reported at the port of Saranda.

As a result, a Greek citizen was prosecuted.

The defendant attempted to leave the Republic of Albania with 45 thousand undeclared euros.

The amount of money was seized as material evidence.

Saranda Port BCP/A case of undeclared money at the border is investigated. 

A Greek citizen is being prosecuted for attempting to leave Albania with 45,000 euros without declaring them.

The amount of money is seized.

The Border Police Services at the Port Saranda BCP, during the continuous checks they carry out with the aim of preventing, identifying and cracking down on illegalities, have found 45,000 euros in a citizen's bag, which he was attempting to take out of Albania without declaring.   

Following the actions in the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against the Greek citizen GV, residing in Greece.  

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Saranda, for further action, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border".
