Tried to cross the border with combat ammunition and cold weapons/ 39-year-old

A 39-year-old man has been arrested by the Morina Border Police after attempting to cross the border with combat ammunition and 4 cold weapons in his vehicle.

Citizen ML, a resident of Kosovo, has been arrested for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons".

During the search of his vehicle, the police found and seized 2 magazines of ammunition, 2 knives, 1 axe and 1 metal baton like the one used by the Police.

Police announcement:

DVKM Kukës/Intensive controls by the Border Police continue to prevent and crack down on criminal activities.

He attempted to cross the border, with combat ammunition and 4 cold weapons in the vehicle, and was arrested by the Morinë Border Police services, a 39-year-old Kosovar citizen.

The illegal items and the vehicle are seized.

The Morinë Border Police Services, in continuation of their work to combat cross-border crimes, based on risk analysis, have passed through a second-line check, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, the vehicle driven by citizen ML.

During the search of the vehicle, the Police services found 2 magazines with cartridges, 2 knives, 1 axe and 1 metal baton similar to the one used by the Police, which were seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle.

At the conclusion of the actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the Kukës DVKM arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen ML, 39 years old, resident of Kosovo, for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Unlicensed production, possession, purchase or sale of cold weapons".

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
