"Maritime Safety"/ Checks from Ksamil to Koman, 30 vessels blocked

During the checks and monitoring carried out on the country's beaches, 30 vessels were blocked, 12 of which for violating the security perimeter.

As a result of monitoring and controls from Ksamil to Koman, 30 vessels have been blocked. The blocked vessels are 18 jet skis, 7 speedboats, 3 dinghies and 2 metal boats with installed water motors.

 

"Intensive monitoring by the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police, with the aim of increasing maritime security parameters.

As a result of monitoring and controls from Ksamil to Koman, 30 vessels have been blocked.

12 of them for violating the security perimeter.

13 citizens (Albanian and foreign) were rescued at sea, through the intervention of the Border Police and the Maritime Police Unit.

As part of the "MARINE SECURITY" operation, the Border Police, in cooperation with the Maritime Police Unit, is conducting intensive monitoring and controls in the maritime area from Ksamil to Velipojë, as well as in lake and river areas, with the aim of identifying violators of navigation rules, the security perimeter, or the use of vessels without relevant documentation.

Throughout this week, 431 vessels were inspected, of which 30 were blocked for violating the maritime security perimeter, carrying out activities outside approved areas and without relevant documentation.

The seized vehicles are 18 jet skis, 7 speedboats, 3 dinghies and 2 metal boats with installed water motors.

12 vessels were found sailing within the security perimeter, endangering the lives of vacationers. Their drivers were fined 100,000 lek each.

Meanwhile, from Ksamil to Velipojë, the Border Police has intervened in 7 cases to help 13 citizens, who were in danger due to strong waves or defects in their boats.

The Border Police appeals for strict compliance with the rules for the use of watercraft, to not violate the security perimeter, to sail only in permitted areas and to be equipped with rescue equipment.

"The State Police invites citizens and vacationers to report any case of violation of the maritime security perimeter or security measures, on the toll-free number 112, guaranteeing immediate reaction and concrete measures against any violator," the Police announcement states . / CNA
