Helped 6 foreigners cross the border illegally for payment/ 31-year-old arrested

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Hot for helping third-country migrants cross the border. The young man was handcuffed after being caught accompanying 6 foreign nationals, 4 from Nepal and 2 from Pakistan.

NB, his car and cell phone were seized. It is suspected that he sent foreign citizens to Greece via Montenegro in exchange for a payment of 350 euros.

Operations by the Border Police continue to prevent and crack down on the illegal activity of providing assistance for illegal border crossings. 

 

The police operation codenamed "Borders 2" is finalized.

 

A 31-year-old man has been arrested for helping immigrants from third countries cross the border illegally.

 

The 31-year-old was caught red-handed in the village of Hot, accompanying 6 citizens (4 from Nepal and 2 from Pakistan).

 

The vehicle in which he was traveling, along with his mobile phone, was seized as material.

 

The services of the Bajzë Border Police Station, in continuation of the work to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens, against payment, for illegal border crossing, based on information obtained through operational means, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Borders 2". As a result of this operation, the citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto:   

 

NB, 31 years old, resident of Kamza, for the criminal offense of "Aid for illegal border crossing".

 

Investigations suspect that this citizen was helping immigrants from Third Countries to illegally cross the land border by transporting them from Montenegro to Greece, in exchange for a payment of 350 euros per person.  

 

Investigations are ongoing to fully document this criminal activity, identify and apprehend other citizens who may have been involved.

 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action./ CNA
