New details are revealed about the arrest of the much-wanted Ilir Paja, yesterday evening in the area of ??Lapraka in Tirana. The 49-year-old was caught in a bar in the area by the Fast and operational unit.

He was kept under strict surveillance for almost 3 months, after the information that was obtained on the operative route that he was sheltering in the area of ??Lapraka, with his relatives, writes ABC news.

During this time, the operational unit was keeping an eye on the premises that Ilir Paja frequented, as well as being intercepted to prove whether it was the same person or not.

It was the monitoring of one of the telephone numbers that Paja used that led to the discovery of the places where he stayed.

The 49-year-old used regular documents, while during the arrest, an amount of 5 thousand euros was seized. Ilir Paja is known by the nickname "UFO" by the Italian justice system, after he escaped twice from prison in a spectacular way.

In 2017, he was released on bail by the Kruja court after serving a sentence for wounding a police officer in 2008, Bledi Haxhimali, during an operation in Tirana to arrest him.
