In the early hours of Saturday morning, a fire broke out in Dhërmi, which engulfed a large wooded area with bushes and various vegetation.

The event happened after an event in a private entity, where it is suspected that 28-year-old L. Xh., who was a participant in this event, lit fireworks which also caused the fire.

As a result, a considerable forest and bush area was damaged by the flames. Dhërmi Police Station, after receiving the notification and thanks to the close cooperation with the residents and vacationers in the coastal area, managed to identify and arrest the suspected perpetrator.

The procedural materials have been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora, which will continue with further actions for the criminal offense "Negligent destruction of forests and forest environment"./CNA
