GJKKO has left in prison the chief commissioner Gazmir Preçi, who is accused of blackmailing the owner of a bar, threatening him that if he did not give him 20,000 euros, he would close the bar.

Preçi asked for a milder measure, but it seems that the court rejected the request, leaving him in prison.

The chief commissioner stated that he did not know that there was money in the envelope and that he had gone to meet the owner after the latter had asked for it.

"I ask for a more lenient measure, as I am the father of three children. I had no idea that there was money in the package. I only went because the owner of the business asked me to. I did not know that there was money inside the envelope and at the time of the arrest I asked for the package to be opened in the presence of the lawyer, which was not possible for me," he is said to have said./ CNA
