Blackmail and fines to the businessman/ The chief of police in Durrës is arrested by order of SPAK

The moment of arrest

The Police Supervision Agency and the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) have struck a case of blackmail and fines in Durrës.

By order of SPAK, AMP has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer, Chief Commissioner Gazmir Preçi, with the duty of Sector Head against Trafficking and Narcotics in the Durrës Local Police Directorate.

The chief commissioner is suspected of having committed the criminal offenses "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".

After the investigations conducted under the direction of SPAK, evidence and facts were provided that this police officer, using the organic function, asked for 20 thousand euros and received the amount of 10 thousand euros in the first stage, through blackmail for blocking the activity in business, a citizen, owner of a bar in the city of Durrës.

At the end of the actions, a monetary value of 10,000 euros, documents related to the event and two mobile telephones were seized as material evidence.

Investigations are continuing for complete documentation with legal evidence, as well as the identification of other possible employees involved in this event./ CNA
