Caused the accident in which one person lost their life/ AMP arrests the police

A police officer was arrested today in Tirana after causing an accident resulting in the loss of life of one person.

Citizen MK has been placed in handcuffs. The AMP announcement states that the accident occurred around 17:30 on "Bajram Curri" Boulevard, where the policeman hit a 65-year-old man with a motorcycle.

The latter was immediately taken to the "Shefqet Ndroqi" hospital in serious condition, but as a result of his injuries he died around 9:00 p.m.

"The Police Supervision Agency (Tirana Region) has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer Inspector MK, with General Patrol duty at the Tirana Police Department, suspected of committing the criminal offense of "Violation of road traffic rules" provided for in article 299/3 of the Criminal Code.

His arrest was carried out after today at around 17:30, while driving a motorcycle on "Bajram Curri" Boulevard, he hit citizen PF, 65 years old, who was immediately taken to the "Shefqet Ndroqi" hospital in serious condition and died as a result of his injuries at around 21:00. The police officer was also injured.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Tirana," the AMP statement said. /CNA
