Large quantities of pyrotechnics seized in Tirana/ Three arrested and 9

Three people have been arrested in Tirana and 9 others have been criminally prosecuted as part of Operation "Fireworks" to stop the illegal trade in pyrotechnics.

Also, within the framework of this operation, the police seized a large quantity of pyrotechnics that were being kept/sold on 7 occasions, in markets, in vehicles or on the street.

Police announcement:

DVP Tirana/The implementation of the special operational plan codenamed "Fireworks" continues intensively.

A large quantity of pyrotechnics was seized that was being held/sold on 7 occasions, in markets, in vehicles or on the street, in violation of the criteria.

3 citizens are arrested and 9 are criminally prosecuted.

As a result of the continuous checks being carried out during these days, within the framework of the "Fireworks" operational plan, on entities/citizens who sell pyrotechnics without authorization, an activity that endangers the health of citizens and public peace, the Tirana Police services identified 7 more cases of this illegality.

Specifically:

-specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the services of the Special Force "Eagle", arrested citizen I. Xh., 28 years old, and referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated in a free state for citizen KH, 25 years old, after during the search of their vehicle, pyrotechnics were found that were possessed by the 28-year-old, with the intention of selling, as well as a small amount of Cannabis that was possessed by the prosecuted citizen;

-Crime Investigation specialists of Police Station No. 1 arrested citizen BL, 22 years old, after a significant amount of fireworks was found during a search of his vehicle's trunk;

- the services of the Police Commissariat No. 3 referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens MB, 18 years old, and LP, 20 years old, after a search of the trunk of their vehicle by the services of the "Eagle" Special Force found a quantity of pyrotechnics;

-Crime Investigation specialists of Police Station No. 4 arrested citizen FJ, 55 years old, and referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens BJ, LT and EV, after the checks established that citizen FJ and his son, citizen BJ, were selling fireworks in their market on "Myslym Keta" street, while the other 2 persons prosecuted were caught buying pyrotechnics;

-Crime Investigation specialists from Police Station No. 5 referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizens AP, 25 years old, AH, 30 years old, and R. Ll., 25 years old, after a quantity of fireworks was found on them.

The checks continue.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.

Tirana Police once again appeals to all citizens not to use and trade pyrotechnics in violation of the established rules and criteria, as this activity, which poses a risk to their lives and health, is punishable by law. / CNA
