A serious incident was reported in Pogradec, where a 12-year-old girl, after a visit to Korça Hospital, was found to be pregnant, around 22 weeks pregnant.

In connection with the incident, the police have detained the citizen RS, 67 years old. He was reported by the minor that in August 2025, he had sexual intercourse without her consent.

"The services of the Pogradec Police Commissariat detained the RS citizen, 67 years old, resident of the village of Piskupat. Yesterday, a 12-year-old girl reported in the presence of her parents, psychologist and prosecutor that in August 2025, the RS citizen had sexual intercourse without her consent, in his apartment, and that she is pregnant ," the police statement said.

The case was brought to light after the girl showed physical changes, which forced her parents to take her to the hospital for an examination. After the visit, it was confirmed that the minor was pregnant.

It is suspected that the alleged perpetrator has repeatedly threatened the minor to not tell the story. The police are conducting investigative actions to fully uncover the serious incident. /CNA
