54-year-old man faces criminal charges for passing undeclared 22,250 euros

Police have criminally prosecuted a 54-year-old man at Kakavija customs after he attempted to withdraw an undeclared amount of money.

During the search of DH's bag, officers found a sum of 22,250 euros, undeclared in accordance with the law.

The amount of money was seized as material evidence.

The 54-year-old man was criminally prosecuted for attempting to take 22,250 euros out of Albania without declaring it.

The amount of money is seized.

In continuation of the work of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the exit from Albania, a search was conducted in the bag of citizen DH, where 22,250 euros were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.

Following the procedural actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Gjirokastër referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for citizen DH, 54 years old, resident of Elbasan. Also, the amount of euros was seized as material evidence. 

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action.
