The increased checks on all road axes continue, for the identification and punishment of violators of traffic rules who are a potential risk for involvement in road events, as well as for the increase of road safety parameters in the capital. 

 

During the past week, 28 citizens were arrested or prosecuted at large for driving while intoxicated or without a driving license, as well as for violating traffic rules.  

 

648 vehicle drivers were punished with administrative measures for using mobile phones while driving.   

 

432 drivers were punished for not giving priority to pedestrians, on white lines. 

 

557 drivers were punished for not wearing a seat belt. 

 

660 administrative measures have been imposed for failure to wear protective helmets by motor vehicle drivers.  

 

78 administrative measures have been imposed, for not using skateboards in the right places.

 

138 administrative measures have been imposed for pedestrians who violate traffic rules. 

 

15 vehicles were blocked, for unpaid obligations, lack of documentation and for verifications, by the Section of Illegal Traffic in DVP Tirana.
