Police, cooperation with crime/ AMP discovers some officers directly involved

The Police Supervision Agency has documented cases where police officers have cooperated with criminal groups.

This was confirmed today by the General Director of the Police Supervision Agency, Ardi Veliu.

While reporting to the security commission, Veliu said that in cooperation with the SPAK and the prosecutor's offices, they have started investigations into some cases of direct cooperation with crime.

" Do we currently have police officers protecting criminal groups?

During the period we are reporting, there are cases where employees were directly involved in criminal activity. They are being investigated by the SPAK and the prosecutors who are pursuing them" , answered Veliu, while not naming specific names.

He stated that there are also cases of the involvement of effectives in the cultivation of cannabis. The director of the AMP emphasized that they have referred to the prosecutor's office 15 cases with 23 police officers involved in the cultivation of cannabis./ CNA.al
