Part of a criminal organization/ A person with two identities is arrested

A 52-year-old man is arrested in Peqin.

Rudin Gripshi has been sentenced by the Court of Venice to 4 years and 10 months in prison for participating in a criminal drug trafficking organization.

Rudin Gripshi alias Luan Gripshi is expected to be extradited to Italy.

Police Announcement:

 

"The police operation codenamed "Operation 65" is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.     

A 52-year-old man, sentenced in Italy to 4 years, 10 months and 14 days in prison, for participating in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics, was captured in Peqin.     

Following successive operations to capture citizens declared internationally wanted, the structures of the Directorate of Special Operational Force at the DPSSh finalized the operation codenamed "Operational 65". During this operation, the following citizen was captured in Peqin and arrested with the aim of extradition to Italy:

Luan Gripshi alias Rudin Gripshi, 52 years old, resident of Peqin.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Court of Appeals in Venice, with the decision dated 03.04.2023, sentenced him to 4 years, 10 months and 14 days in prison, for participating in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics.  

Interpol Tirana continues the procedures in cooperation with the Italian authorities for the extradition of this citizen ."/ CNA
