Clashes in the MEK/Police camp: 15 officers injured, 6 Iranians under

They violently objected to the employees of the State Police and damaged the Police vehicles, in order to prevent the execution of the decision of the GJKKO to carry out controls in the location of the MEK organization, 6 citizens, leaders of the MEK organization, are being prosecuted

On 20.06.2023, services of the General Directorate of the State Police, based on the operational plan drawn up for the purpose of executing the criminal decision no. 262, dated 19.06.2023, of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, have carried out checks in the premises of the location of the MEK organization, in the administrative unit Manzë, Durrës, to find and seize illegal items that could be found in residence premises.

During the performance of procedural actions in accordance with the law, the Police services encountered violent and continuous opposition from the citizens staying in the residence, who tried to prevent the Police services from continuing the checks and seizing the material evidence, object of the decision of GJKKO.

As a result of violent and continuous protests, 15 police officers and State Police vehicles were damaged. Despite the violence inflicted on them, the Police officers have restrained themselves to the extreme, not responding proportionally to the violence that was being inflicted on them.

In the framework of the investigative actions carried out for this purpose, as well as after consultation with the prosecutor of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, the criminal proceedings have started in a free state, for the criminal offenses "Disobedience to the order of the employee of public order police", "Opposition to the public order police officer", "Destruction of property" and "Obstacles to the execution of court decisions", for 6 Iranian citizens, residents of the location of the MEK organization, specifically:

HN, 73 years old; UK, 72 years old; AA, 72 years old; BS, 63 years old; AA, 61 years old and DF, 70 years old.

The investigative structures of the DVP Durrës and those of the Criminal Police Department of the DPPSH, under the direction of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, continue the in-depth investigations to document with legal evidence, the illegal actions carried out by citizens resident in the MEK location, during the operation carried out by the State Police, in implementation of the decision of GJKKO, for the control in the interior of the residence.
