Anti-drug operation in Korça/ Officers injured, one person arrested

The Korça Local Police Directorate conducted an anti-drug operation this evening. According to preliminary data, one person was arrested.

Sources indicate that the arrested were found with more than 12 doses of suspected cocaine in the premises of a bar in the village of Lumalas.

It is suspected that the arrested person was using the bar to sell cocaine after a quantity was found during a body search.

During the operation, an accident was also recorded near the same village, where two police officers were at work on the operation and were involved in an accident with a vehicle.

As reported, one of the officers sustained an injury to his leg and is heading to Tirana for more specialized treatment, but his life is out of danger.

Work is continuing by the Southeast Police on further actions regarding the incident as well as identifying other persons who may be related to drug sales./ CNA
