The Greek media have updated the data on the assassination last evening in Greece, where 6 victims were reported.

Previously, it was said that the gang was Albanian, but according to the latest information, it is about Turkish citizens. The incident took place in the coastal town of Artemis in Eastern Attica, about 20 kilometers from the Greek capital.

The six men, confirmed to be Turkish nationals and not Albanians as first reported, were shot on a secluded road around 6.30pm on Monday evening while traveling in a blue car with German license plates. Five of the victims were found dead inside the vehicle and the sixth, believed to be the driver, was outside the car.

None of the six victims, who have not yet been officially identified, had criminal records in Greece, while the fact that none of them were armed is also being treated as potentially significant.

Forensic investigators have been searching the crime scene since Monday for evidence of how it happened and the identity of the perpetrators, and have collected more than 20 shell casings at the scene.

The Greek authorities have also requested help from Interpol and are working with their German colleagues to identify the license plates.

Meanwhile, investigators are collecting security camera footage in hopes of finding clues that will lead them to the perpetrators of the attack, which some witnesses said involved a dark-colored car and a motorcycle.

For now, police are treating the shooting as part of a turf war between rival criminal gangs, possibly drug-related./ CNA
