A powerful organization that dealt with drug trafficking from Albania to Italy, has recently been hit by the Italian authorities in cooperation with SPAK, Eurojust and the Italian Antimafia.
Authorities have issued 19 arrest warrants, following investigations that began in 2017.
The approval to execute the orders came after a Supreme Court decision on December 14.
Some of those arrested in Italy were eventually sentenced to 11 years in prison for international drug trafficking.
The criminal gang trafficked marijuana, cocaine and heroin.
The group consisting of Albanian and Italian traffickers operated in the Bari area, but also had branches in Apulia and Basilicata./ CNA
